On the 23rd September one of our friends, Gwen Roberts, organised a quiz evening to raise funds for Brownbread. About 30 people attended including all the Trustees, Christine, Harry and Fern who help out and live nearby. Our table, called “The Nags” didn’t do very well, I guess because there weren’t many horsy questions! Everyone brought their own drinks, Tony said a few words about the Centre and, generally everyone had a good time. At the end of the evening Gwen was able to present Brownbread with a cheque for £125; an enjoyable evening out with the ponies benefiting as a result.
Village halls are often under used and yet the hire fee for an evening is often as little as £5 per hour. We’re often asked for fund-raising suggestions so why not try this. Obviously Gwen raised enough cash on the evening to pay for her advertising and hall hire as well as making the donation so why not give it a try. Well done, Gwen and many thanks for your efforts
